Rules and Regulations

Entry Deadline August 3, 2007

  1. Entries are open to the world.
  2. Use the same exhibitor's number in all departments.
  3. All indoor entries must be entered on Wednesday,August 8, from 4:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. Entry Deadline by August 3, 2007
  4. Anyone entering must be 9 years of age by December 31 the year of the fair except in Departments 25,26 Small Animals and Poultry where there is no age limit and Department 40 (8 and under).
  5. Entries on display in the buildings including all animals cannot be moved before 6:00 p.m. on Sunday, August 12, 2007. The exhibit stub must be presented to the clerk to pick up each entry.If removed before this time premium money will be forfeited.
  6. One entry per class except where permitted.
  7. Articles must be current year products completed during this year.
  8. All reasonable precautions will be taken to protect exhibits. The Fair will not be responsible loss or injury of same.
  9. The management will use diligence to insure the safety of livestock and articles entered for the exhibition or display after their arrival on the grounds but under no circumstances will it be responsible for loss injury or damage by theft fire lightning wind or by any other agency to such livestock article on exhibition or display and the Fair and management thereof shall be held harmless by the exhibitors against all legal or other proceedings relating thereto.
  10. The Fair Board reserves the right to reject exhibits deemed unworthy (i.e. workmanship cleanliness etc.)
  11. A premium ribbon or sticker placed on the exhibit is no guarantee of award. It is governed by the records on the judges books.
  12. The Marquette County Fair reserves the right to pro-rate premiums if funding is not received from the State of Michigan or if fair receipts are insufficient to pay expenses.
  13. The management reserves to itself the sole and absolute right to settle disputes and misunderstandings arising out of premium awards or phase of enterprise of the Fair without claim for damages. A formal protest by an agricultural exhibitor or others against a placing shall be filed no more than 24 hours after the placing is made. Any protest must be accompanied with written statement detailing specific problem and a $25.00 deposit. The complaint will be sent to MDA within 45 days.
  14. In the event of a conflict between general rules and those in a department the special rules take precedence.
