PONY PULLING CONTEST RULES
1      Classification of ponies will be under 46" and 46" to 50"
2       Pulling court will be 12 feet in width
3       Ponies will be measured at the third vertebrae of the withers standing in a natural position shoes will be deducted from height of pony
4       Ponies will be measured at the discretion of the superintendent
6       Each driver must take first pull after weight change except on warm up loads
7       No whipping or undue use of the lines mechanical or electrical devices profanity or shouting will be permitted
8       Each driver will be allowed two helpers one to be at head if desired all other helpers and judges to stay behind eveners
9       Each Team will be driven by one driver throughout the entire contest except in case of injury
10       Any forward movement of load after driver gives command to go will be counted as a pull
11       The weight of load will be determined by the judges
12       Three trials to each load The driver must stay hooked for his second trial and return at the end of his third trial third trial can pull either way
13       There will not be over three tries to hitch or it will be counted as a pull
14       The distance for each pull is 14 feet but distance of less than 14 feet will determine winner of place at end of contest Distance chain will be fasterned to center of rear of boat other end with stake also set to touch rear of boat
15       If any pony steps on or over the ropes while pulling the team will be disqualified for the given pull This must be called by the judge
16       No one horse will be allowed to pull in two classes
17       Driver must be ready when his turn comes to pull
18       If any team takes to long to get ready to pull his pull can be taken away
19       Any team declared unmanageable will be sent to the truck by the judges
20       All teamsters must ride the boat
21       Team must qualify by hooking trial load before it is eligible to compete in contest
